Toddler Room

This room will have fun-filled activities, from sand & water-play to puzzles & painting, thus encouraging your child to progress through this confusing and trying age.

A caring and approachable manner is always taken to make sure your child feels comfortable.

Staff in this room are patient, consistent and reliable at this crucial stage in your child's development.

For example during July the Theme for the Toddler room was - "Insects". Insects are an integral part of the earths eco-system performing duties from plant pollonation to being a pat of the food-chain. During July the children looked at insects through:

• Art - e.g. butterfly printing collage, Junk art.
• Discussions - talking about the different colours and markings of insects, the different spieces and their habitats.
• Nature Walk - taking the children out to find different insects and to examine and explore their surroundings.
• Stories - reading the children different books e.g. are you snail, the hungry caterpillar, etc.
• Physical Play - getting the children to express themselves through dance and movements. To imagine to be different insects.
• Songs & Rhymes - the children will learn songs & rhymes relating to theme e.g. incy wincy spider, ugly bug ball, etc.
